Microsoft has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Service Engineer to join their Secure Work Area (SWA) Infrastructure and Operations team. This role involves supporting SWA operations and offerings, with responsibility for deploying and operating Secure Work Areas, including infrastructure for collaboration within airgapped environments.
The position requires working with engineers to enable Azure services for consumption by internal and external customers in highly secured and regulated industries. All systems, projects, and processes must meet strict security policy and assurance requirements for both public and private sector customers.
As a Principal Service Engineer, you'll coordinate vendor services, build cross-organizational coalitions, manage complex crisis situations, and lead the implementation of scalable, secure solutions. The role demands expertise in security vulnerability management, system troubleshooting, and the ability to shape security policies aligned with industry standards.
The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of technical experience or a Master's degree with 8+ years of experience in software engineering, network engineering, or related fields. Experience with large-scale cloud or distributed systems is essential. The position requires an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with SCI access and U.S. citizenship.

The base pay range is $137,600 - $267,000 per year (higher in SF Bay Area and NYC), along with additional benefits and compensation opportunities.
