Description For Staff Infrastructure Engineer

Rad AI, a rapidly growing healthcare AI company, is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer with a focus on DevOps to join their engineering team. This role is crucial in architecting a robust, scalable infrastructure and elevating system reliability practices.

Rad AI has raised over $80 million in funding and has formed a partnership with Google to collaborate on the future of generative AI in healthcare. They are recognized as one of the most promising healthcare AI companies, with their technology being used by more than 1/3 of radiology groups and healthcare systems, including Kaiser Permanente, HCA Healthcare, and Geisinger.

The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of infrastructure experience, with proficiency in Python, Bash, and Infrastructure as Code tools. They should be comfortable with AWS or GCP services, have strong networking expertise, and be skilled in Linux troubleshooting. The role involves architecting and building infrastructure using tools like Kubernetes, serverless applications, and various cloud services.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to define the Platform vision, developing tooling to enhance engineering productivity, and overseeing network and systems monitoring. The successful candidate will also be part of a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Responsibilities For Staff Infrastructure Engineer

  • Architect and build infrastructure for our platform, utilizing container orchestration tools (preferably Kubernetes), serverless applications (e.g., Lambda), virtual machines like EC2 (or equivalents in GCE or Azure), and databases.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering leaders, machine learning, data science, and product teams to define our Platform vision.
  • Develop and maintain efficient tooling to enhance the productivity of our engineering team.
  • Promote sustainable incident response practices and conduct blameless postmortems.
  • Oversee network and systems monitoring, devise alert strategies, and join a 24x7 five-engineer on-call rotation.

Requirements For Staff Infrastructure Engineer

  • Minimum 8+ years of infrastructure experience with proficiency in Python (preferred), Bash, IaC (Terraform, Pulumi) and/or other industry-standard languages.

  • Networking expertise and comfort working with command-line Linux.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, delegation, and feedback skills.
