Description For Enterprise Sales Engineer - Public Sector NYC

Samsara, a pioneer in Connected Operations™ Cloud, is seeking a passionate Enterprise Sales Engineer for their Public Sector division in NYC. This role combines technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, focusing on bringing IoT technology to market. You'll work with an extensive set of hardware devices, including wireless sensors, IoT gateways, and connected cameras, while managing the technical pre-sales cycle for large strategic customers.

The position requires deep technical knowledge spanning cloud software, sensor systems, and wireless networks. You'll be instrumental in helping organizations improve their operations through IoT implementation, working on everything from logistics management to workplace safety programs. The role involves frequent travel (50%) and requires living within 50 miles of New York City.

As an Enterprise Sales Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of digital transformation in physical operations, working with industries that represent over 40% of global GDP. You'll collaborate closely with Enterprise Account Executives, handling complex technical evaluations, and ensuring successful solution deployment. The role combines hands-on technical work with strategic customer engagement, requiring both deep technical expertise and strong business acumen.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of pre-sales experience, strong technical background, and the ability to work across various technology stacks. You'll be responsible for everything from hardware installations to API integrations, while maintaining strong customer relationships throughout the sales cycle. Responsibilities For Enterprise Sales Engineer - Public Sector NYC

  • Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare and execute strategic deals
  • Successfully match customer pain points and requirements to proposed solutions
  • Deploy and install hardware and installation (for POCs)
  • Set up SaaS dashboards
  • Manage custom reporting and integrations via API
  • Mentor other SEs on the team
  • Work in multiple levels of the technology stack
  • Establish customer relationships and trust

Requirements For Enterprise Sales Engineer - Public Sector NYC
