The R&D Test Systems Engineering (TSE) team at Tesla is responsible for identifying, designing, building, and commissioning scalable test solutions to accelerate product development cycles. This team supports both vehicle and energy programs across R&D, Engineering, and Manufacturing. As a Senior Mechatronics Engineer, you will leverage Tesla's technologies to develop end-to-end hardware test solutions, working with multidisciplinary and cross-functional groups.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, validating, and integrating hardware test solutions
- Architecting novel, robust product systems from first principles
- Designing packaging and components for airflow, coolant, and refrigerant management
- Modeling and testing for stress, thermal, fluid, and mechanical aspects
- Collaborating with various teams to take designs from prototype to production
- Creating high-quality drawing packages and manufacturing instructions
- Coordinating internally and externally to ensure successful test product development and deployment
The ideal candidate should have:
- 6+ years of experience as a Mechanical/Mechatronics/Automation Engineer
- A degree in Electrical, Mechatronic, or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong mechanical and electrical first principles skills
- Experience with lab and test equipment
- Control PLC experience in Beckhoff (a plus)
- Coding experience with automation and data processing
