Description For Data Center Electrical Engineer

Google is seeking a Data Center Electrical Engineer to join their Technical Infrastructure team. This role is crucial in developing and maintaining Google's data centers and building the next generation of Google platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in mission-critical facility design and construction environments.

As a Data Center Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing high, medium, and low voltage system physical designs using AIS and GIS products. You will also develop and review power system studies, grounding calculations, CT sizing, and voltage drop analyses. Familiarity with IEC and ANSI/NEMA standards is essential.

The role involves working on complex topics related to power usage and running state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facilities. You will be expected to generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives, and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians. Your technical expertise will ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements, and serve as an expert in your specialty.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and implementing electrical system designs for data centers
  2. Conducting power system studies and calculations
  3. Creating new electrical product solutions for mission-critical facilities

Requirements For Data Center Electrical Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience in mission critical facility design and construction environments
  • 3 years of experience in design, construction, and commissioning of high voltage substations, medium or low voltage electrical distribution systems, AC/DC systems
  • 3 years of experience in mission critical facilities and their electrical infrastructure
