Description For Product Manager I, Chrome OS Platform Enablement

Google's Chrome OS Platform Enablement team is seeking a Product Manager I to lead the development and execution of platform roadmaps for Chrome devices. This role sits at the intersection of hardware and software, working with Chrome OS's market segments and users. The position requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders including engineering teams, silicon vendors, device manufacturers, and technology partners to drive innovation in Chrome OS platforms.

The role involves managing the complete product lifecycle from conception to launch, with a focus on developing reference and partner platforms for Chrome devices. You'll be responsible for creating and executing multi-year roadmaps that include new features, user journeys, and technology collaborations. The position requires strong technical understanding and business acumen to navigate complex partner relationships across the supply chain.

Responsibilities For Product Manager I, Chrome OS Platform Enablement

  • Establish a multi-year roadmap with new features, user journeys, and technology collaborations
  • Partner with Engineering teams, silicon vendors, external device manufacturers, device brands, hardware vendors, and technology Product Managers
  • Set quarterly and annual goals and priorities for the team to execute against
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams and peer software and platform partners
  • Work with Hardware and Software Engineering teams, Partner Management, Business Development, Marketing, other Product Managers, external device manufacturers, device brands, suppliers, and silicon partners

Requirements For Product Manager I, Chrome OS Platform Enablement

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience in product management of consumer electronic hardware products, or related technical role
  • 1 year of experience taking technical products from conception to launch
  • Experience with the Android Operating System
  • Experience working with numerous external partners
  • Experience in managing consumer electronics product planning and product management
  • Experience executing and landing multi-year projects
  • Experience navigating business situations and identifying solutions
  • English proficiency is required
