Description For Software Engineer III, Infrastructure, Google TV

Google TV is revolutionizing the television experience by making it highly personalized and content-forward, leveraging Google's smart technology to help users access global media content. This role is part of the Google TV team, which has over 110 million active users and is rapidly expanding across the OEM ecosystem. As a Software Engineer III in Infrastructure, you'll be working on critical systems that power the Google TV platform, collaborating with various Google teams including Ads, Play, and YouTube.

The position requires strong technical expertise in developing large-scale infrastructure and distributed systems. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support Google TV's growing ecosystem. The role offers opportunities to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the quickly evolving media and entertainment industry.

You'll be joining a team that's focused on scaling across the OEM ecosystem, working closely with third-party streaming partners, and building business solutions across TV platforms, OTT devices, and mobile devices. The position offers competitive compensation including a base salary range of $136,000-$200,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

As a Software Engineer III, you'll be expected to manage project priorities, participate in design reviews, write efficient code, and ensure best practices through code reviews. You'll also contribute to documentation and be responsible for troubleshooting complex system issues.   • Write product or system development code
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues

  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting
  • 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, and/or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture
